IOCL is recruiting Engineers/Officers (Grade A) in the following domains:
- Chemical Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Instrumentation Engineering

Eligibility Criteria of Indian Oil Engineer and Officer Recruitment 2025
Age Limit
- Maximum 26 years as on 01 July 2025 for General/EWS candidates.
- Date of birth proof must be as per Secondary Education Board certificate.
Upper Age Relaxation
PwBD = Persons with Benchmark Disabilities
Educational Qualification
- Full-time B.Tech/BE (or equivalent) recognized by AICTE/UGC with:
- Minimum 65% marks for General/EWS/OBC-NCL
- Minimum 55% marks for SC/ST/PwBD
- Eligible disciplines per domain paper:
- Chemical: Chemical; Petrochemical; Biochemical; Refinery-oriented specializations
- Electrical: Electrical; Electrical & Electronics; Power Systems; Instrumentation controls
- Instrumentation: Instrumentation; Electronics & Instrumentation; Control systems
Integrated or dual degrees accepted subject to discipline match and percentage criteria.
Recruitment Process of Indian Oil Engineer and Officer Recruitment 2025
Aptitude Examination
Candidates must qualify a 150-minute Computer Based Test comprising 100 objective questions. Negative marking of 0.25 marks applies for each incorrect response.
PwBD candidates using a scribe receive 20 minutes extra per hour.
Interview
Shortlisted candidates undergo:
- Group Discussion (GD)
- Group Task (GT)
- Personal Interview (PI)
Minimum 40% marks required in GD/GT and PI to qualify.
Final Selection
Composite score calculation:
- CBT: 85% weight
- GD & GT: 5% weight (min 40% to pass)
- PI: 10% weight (min 40% to pass)
- Overall composite cut-off: 45% for General/EWS/OBC-NCL; 40% for SC/ST
Selection is provisional pending document verification and medical fitness.
Application Fees and Intimation Charges
- General/EWS/OBC-NCL: ₹500 + GST (non-refundable)
- SC/ST/PwBD: Exempted
Payment modes include Debit/Credit cards, Internet Banking, UPI, and wallets. Transaction charges borne by the candidate.
